With 14 nominations between them, B.o.B, Bruno Mars, and Janelle Monáe tag-teamed during their empowering Grammy Awards performance, with each artist backing up one another as they sang their hits.
A monocle-clad B.o.B. kicked off the triple threat with an acoustic rendition of “Nothin’ on You,” getting a hand from Bruno on piano and Janelle playing the synth. Bruno soon took over with a ’50s-inspired rework for “Grenade,” framed in black-and-white with B.o.B holding it down on the keys.
Janelle Monáe capped of the performance with a fiery version of “Cold War” where B.o.B took on guitar duties and Mars rocked it on the drums. The bouffant-sporting chanteuse stage-dove and sang her heart out, earning a standing ovation from her peers.
I’m never provoked to write on here, but that was absolutely incredible. respect for bruno mars brilliant voice, and great drumming and piano too. and of course b.o.b bringin something great and different to the table! just brilliant!
Love, love, love this!! Three extremely talented artists supporting one another, can’t get any better than that!
And maybe it’s just me, but Bruno’s performance gave me some little MJ-esque vibes.
‘Cold War’ is my song! I love that song. These artists here make me feel a kind of hope for the future of music. It’s not dead so long as we have artists like these three.
