New Music: Lloyd – ‘Cupid’
Lloyd gets struck with an arrow by “Cupid” on the new single from his fourth album King of Hearts, due April 19. On the Polow Da Don production, the ladies’ man coos about falling for his girl after Cupid makes him his target. “I don’t want to waste another moment/ It’s just me and you girl, and Cupid has done it again/ Got my head spinning around and around and around,” he sings over the sultry arrangement. I like it. To me, his best songs are the mainstream sounding ones. I loved “You”, “Get it Shawty”, How We Do it Round My WAy, I can change your life, and year of the lover. Nice vibe, hopefully most of the album sounds like this and not “Lay it Down”
