London export Tinie Tempah has taken the U.K. by storm and now he’s set his sights on the U.S. Rap-Up TV caught up with the much-buzzed-about rapper during his first trip to Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old, who just won two awards at the BRIT Awards 2011, filled us in on his U.S. debut Disc-Overy, collaborating with Kelly Rowland on the empowering anthem “Invincible,” his respect for Kanye West (“He’s definitely transcended the stereotypes of rap”), approval of Nicki Minaj’s British accent, and partying with Rihanna on the road. “I know she likes to party, but she really remained civil and demure,” said Tinie of his tourmate.
Get familiar with the rising star and watch the video for “Written in the Stars,” the first single from Disc-Overy, landing in stores May 3.
Alright?!! @chet, ur either Deaf or a Hater (I’d say deaf) Bt anyway, for all those he don’t Know, Tinie’s one of the biggest artists to come out of the UK; Period.

He may not be anywhere near as good a rapper as other in the UK (like Devlin, Wretch 32, etc.) but I HIM. I love how he comes off as laid back, humble and appreciative. I’ll take him over Taio Cruz and Jay Sean.
