Singer-songwriter Kenna breaks out the “Chains” on the first song off his upcoming three-EP series Land 2 Air Chronicles. The cowbell-replete tune, produced by The Neptunes’ Chad Hugo, co-written with Interpol’s Paul Banks, and featuring Shimmy Hoffa, boasts chugging riffs and an emphatic chorus where he repeatedly yelps, “Bang!” Check out the first release off the EP, dropping March 8, in anticipation of what could possibly be his last album ever, Songs for Flight.
I’ve been a big fan of Kenna’s since New Sacred Cow and this song is awesome. I bet if he put a lobster on his head and shot a golden egg out of his ass this would sell on iTunes in five minutes. Unfortunately, people with substance in their music don’t need to resort to such shenanigans. Chad Hugo is underrated as a producer and we need to hear more production from him.

“Make Sure They See My Face” should have went platinum. I picked up that album a few months after its release. This time, I’ll be buying day 1.
