New Music: Marsha Ambrosius – ‘Butterflies (Remix)’![]() Marsha Ambrosius reclaims her track “Butterflies” for her solo debut Late Nights & Early Mornings (March 1). The original version, which she penned for Michael Jackson in 2001 and was later rerecorded for her group Floetry’s 2002 album Floetic, gets a grown ‘n’ sexy remake where horns blurt alongside popping instrumentation and Marsha delivers a vocally-layered performance. “Getting the opportunity to work with the best who ever did it, on planet Earth, period, is just a blessing,” Marsha told Rap-Up.com of the late King of Pop, who jokingly called her a “singing heifer.” “I knew him as a father, as a friend. It was me paying my respects back to him and just thanking him for doing something for me so early in my career I never expected.” Catch butterflies again by checking the newly-configured tune.

I LOVE this new version. This needs to be the next single. Marsha’s album is off the chain. Best RnB album for the year so far.

I love the fact that Marsha decided to do an uptempo record. Just flexes her musical impulses and does to show that she can indeed depart from her soulful simmering R&B songs for a more poppier sound.

It shows wha an artist can do when they reach. It’s a little too close to the original, but it shows her range. I’ll listen to it again.

I remember when I heard this on the Floetic CD when it first came out. I was so confused lol, like “why are they singing Michael’s song?” then I found out that she wrote AND produced the record! I’ve been a fan ever since! March 1st needs to hurry!

je n’aime pas , c’est trop saccadé , je préfère à jamais la version de Michael , si douce et avec sa voix exceptionnelle .
