Nicki Minaj Gets Dolled Up for BlackBook
Nicki Minaj is the big kid on the playground in one of the fashionable photos from her cover shoot for BlackBook magazine, on sale now. The head Barb holds a tattered doll and pink soda can while standing on top of foam blocks in yellow sneakers. She dons various other getups inside the pages including a butterfly-print jacket, spotted catsuit, fringe dress, and sky-high platform heels.
In the interview, Nicki shares what her and fellow pop star Lady Gaga have in common. “We both do the awkward, non-pretty thing,” she says. “What we’re saying—what I’m saying, anyway—is that it’s okay to be weird. And maybe your weird is my normal. Who’s to say? I think it’s an attitude we both share.”
When asked if she’s dating her co-manager Diddy, she responded, “God, no. It was so disgusting to me that people would even link me and him. I grew up watching him. I look at him like a Russell Simmons figure, definitely not as someone I’d be getting it poppin’ with.”
