Rap-Up.com || Willow Smith Kicks Off Tour with Justin Bieber, Wins NAACP Image Award

She may only be 10 years old, but Willow Smith is already playing in the big leagues. The daughter of Will and Jada opened for teen idol Justin Bieber on his U.K. tour at National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England, performing her hit single “Whip My Hair” and debuting a new song called “Rockstar” with an on-screen intro from Roc Nation boss Jay-Z. She will travel with the Biebs on 12 more dates across the pond.

The “21st Century Girl,” who performed her new single last week on “Oprah,” beat out Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, and B.o.B for Outstanding New Artist at the 42nd NAACP Image Awards last night. “OMG….just got word that I won an NAACP Image Award….SO honored & so excited,” tweeted a jubilant Willow.

I agree with @pretty + Willow was a little obnoxious on Oprah. She came across as a sorta well-mannered but totally entitled little girl. I guess it pays to be Will Smith’s kid. Doors are opened for her & huge opportunities are given to her when they wouldn’t be otherwise.

I think she acted fine on Oprah considering that this isnt the first time she meet Oprah and the Smith’s are close to Oprah I used to play around all the time with my aunts and uncles at that age . . . Also Willow can sing she sounds better live than on her records, shes only ten and she will get better with time

I enjoy Willow and her music….she makes good music and you don’t always need vocals, is she a powerhouse singer? no, Idk why yall expect her to hit these notes when her music doesn’t resemble that sound yall want her to have. She is young and wants to have fun and that’s what her music is…..her, the young, ambitious, fun girl.

I wanna hear ‘Rockstar’! I like how it sounds. The concert looks like fun! She looks cute, too. Go Willow!!!

For anyone that would say anything bad (I’m not reading comments), the kids need some artists to like, too. Or otherwise who are they going to listen to? Britney? Gaga? Rihanna? They could, yeah, but kids need some artists to represent them, too. The adults complaining about her style/singing are ridiculous. We can listen, but some people conveniently forget she’s a kid. I love her swagger, regardless of her age, and at that same time she still acts like a kid. All the best to Willow!
