Video: Jessie J Performs on ‘SNL’

Jessie J

Jessie J made her stateside television debut this weekend, performing on “Saturday Night Live” with host Zach Galifianakis. The British songstress showed off her powerful pipes while singing her single “Price Tag” with guest B.o.B and the big band-styled “Mamma Knows Best” off her debut album Who You Are, arriving April 12 in the U.S.

“I think it’s probably even more special for a British artist because we’re British,” Jessie told MTV News about appearing on “SNL.” “I know Adele’s done it recently and I’m so proud of her and Tinie Tempah’s blowing up here. I just feel like the British movement is coming, like U.K stand up, and I’m flying the flag. To be able to do something like ‘Saturday Night Live’ is part of history.”

Watch Jessie launch her U.S. invasion below.

she definitely pointed to the left when she said “look to ya right” and the same for “look to ya left”………im confused on whether or not she doesnt know her right from left or if she did it on purpose….EITHER WAY I LOVE HER!!!

@JNash, both of you guys get a life. Look up what the Illuminati are before you post stupid ignorant comments like this. Does every artist these days have to be part of the Illuminati? Did you guys see the pictures of Jay-Z wearing the Jesus shirt? There is no Illuminati. Get a life.

    JNash Reply:

@The Beast, i know what the illuminati is thanks. And yes most artists are, the music industry is very corrupt just like the media and banking industry. And your dumb to think jay-z supports jesus. Wearing a t-shirt of jesus in flames just shows how he feels about jesus being our lord. The flames represent it all.

@JNash, If that is all true, then why the hell has nothing happened in history due to the music industry? Everyone accused Tupac of it and he is dead now.

@tired, Damn that girl can sing!! That’s probably why their trying to shove her down our throats mr.tired, because people are “tired” of turning on the radio and hearing people who are completely auto-tuned.

Jessie has written some of the best songs on radio past 5 years. Christina, Justin TL, Miley cyrus and many others look to her for her words and music. Trust me, she is THE new thing in music. Already number one in Britain. Britain makes the music style, always has! She is not manufactured like Lady GG. She is a singer song writer and poet. Watch her star rise. Tonight is just the start!

    cheers!!!

“Mamma Knows Best” is the superior song IMO. “Price Tag” sounds like a cookie cutter Katy Perry song to me. But you have to love any band with a horn section and a Hammond organ.

I just figured out that Dr. Luke produced and co-wrote “Price Tag” so no wonder it sounds like at Katy Perry song.

She’s an amazing singer. I don’t like how the media is trying to blow her up… She can do it on her own, without all the hysteria around it. But a talent like hers doesn’t come around very often, so I am going to enjoy her music! You go, Jessie J!

I like her song, but you have to say, she tried too hard during her SNL performance. She was trying to be too “cutesy” and ruined it. I could understand what she was saying, but I almost just fast forwarded through her performance because it was annoying to hear her wailing and screaming at us through that microphone. She’s good, I guess, but I’d rate her SNL performance about a 2 or 3, because it was pretty horrible, in my opinion. *Note that I said “In MY OPINION” so none of you have much of a reason to yell at me*
