Rap-Up.com || Meet Lil Wayne’s New Artist Porcelain Black

YMCMB is ready to rock your world. Lil Wayne introduced his newest discovery Porcelain Black during the first stop on his “I Am Music II” tour in Providence, Rhode Island, this week. Part Cruella de Vil, part Lady Gaga, the 25-year-old glam rocker took the stage before her mentor and had concertgoers asking, “Who’s that chick?”

Here’s what we know. Porcelain, born Alaina Beaton, grew up in Detroit and previously recorded under the name Porcelain and the Tramps. Formerly signed to Virgin Records, she is now working with hitmaker RedOne on her Universal Republic debut. Her first single, “This Is What Rock N Roll Looks Like,” features Wayne and is slated to hit iTunes on March 29. She also appears in Swizz Beatz’ upcoming video for “Rock ‘N’ Roll” alongside Weezy, Lenny Kravitz, and Travis Barker.

@Dadadada, RedOne produces songs for her, but she is not signed to RedOne’s label (2101 Records), She is singed to Lil Waynes label, which is why they say its Lil Wayne’s artist. RedOne produces for Lady Gaga, but Lady Gaga is not singed to RedOne’s label she is singed to Akon’s label.

She’s not signed to Lil Wayne’s label. She said herself that she was signed to RedOne’s label through Universal after she knocked her deal with Virgin records. He is also her producer. It would be a pity if she was signed to YMCM. Ridiculous actually.

Universal Republic is a record label, owned by Universal Music Group, and operates as a division of Universal Motown Republic Group. Lil Wayne just brought her out to showcase her talent, he didnt “discover” or sign her. Shes been in the business for a while. She is just preparing a new album and needed exposure.
Zander Bleck, Mohombi and Porcelain Black have all WORKED with RedOne on their upcoming albums.

@Dseg, I’ve been following Alaina for 4 years now. She is not Lil Wayne’s discovery because she’s been doing music since 2003 (and by herself)

She’s not signed to Lil Wayne’s label because Universal Republic and Red One’s label signed her. It’s written on her myspace page and on Universal Repubilc website. People thought she was the new YMCM artist because she’s touring with Lil Wayne.

This girl has her own style. It’s grungy, dirty rock and she pulls it off well. She’s got a tight image and she may scare/intimidate/gross some people out but she’s got the whole DGAF/DIY punk ethic going for her. I was at Lil wayne’s concert last night in miami and when i walked in i felt as if i had walked into a nightmare. I even turned to my friend and asked her if we were at the wrong concert, this girl was absolutely terrible and all she did was screech into the microphone it was ear-piercing !
