Rap-Up.com || New Music: Wiz Khalifa

Wiz Khalifa parties the night away on “No Sleep,” a feel-good cut off his major label debut Rolling Papers, blazing into stores March 29. Touting a pop-friendly beat from Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Britney Spears), the celebratory anthem sees the Pittsburgh rapper living every day like it’s the weekend, with a sing-song chorus about keeping the champagne flowing ’til the break of dawn.

“No job and no sleep and/ Live it up like it’s the weekend/ When the DJ play the right song/ Gon’ drink, gon’ party all night long,” sings Wiz. Raise your red cup to the new tune below.

You would of figured by now that those who hate on these tracks would realize that he’s a mainstream artist already. Therefore he has to make radio worthy material, it can’t all be about blunts & bitches. Give Wiz a little more credit than that. He’s just giving them what they need so he can stay payed.

@blk_inc, And its surprising people like you have not figured out by now that people’s frustration with the songs from the new album is that they are inferior in pretty much every way to the types of songs that made Wiz popular in the first place. Go listen to anything off of Deal or No Deal, Flight School, Burn After Rolling, Kush and OJ or any of his other old mixtapes and then try to claim this is of any merit.
“He’s Just giving them what they need so he can stay paid.”? That’s the definition of selling out. An artist who actually respects his fans and his craft should strive to create quality music. The money should come second. As someone who had a failed major label signing before, it’s disappointing Wiz does not seem to care about that.

i understand when people get worked up about an artist selling out with mainstream success, but honestly this song isn’t bad. i’ve listened to wiz since say yeah and honestly he hasn’t lost quality at all. i bump roll up every day and i love this damn song too. just bought the album today to support him, gotta say i love it too. the only difference is he’s got more money to make more great music. stop dicking on wiz when his songs are still better than most rappers nowadays. go ahead and listen to that new snoop dogg album and tell me wiz isn’t still on top of the game.
