Trina polishes off some new gems on her DJ Ill Will and DJ Holiday-hosted mixtape Diamonds Are Forever, the prelude to her next album. The Diamond Princess calls on Rick Ross (“Waist So Skinny”), Teairra Mari (“Black Bird”), Mya (“Can I”), T-Pain (“Ghetto”), and more for the 17-track freebie, which she describes as “really fun and energetic.” Listen to her shine below.

Trina truly is the Queen of the South no female rapper can compare to her except eve, who is her match, and the other female rappers who have been in the game longer then her. Besides that shes the absolute best.

i think these tracks are def solid for this mixtape and in my opinion i think this should have been an album. trina been at this for a long time and she still has that edge! love it trina and keep it up!

I love the fact that Trina has been relevant in the rap game for 13 years and is still releasing albums, singles, videos and mixtapes. But I hate the fact that people are saying Nicki Minaj saved female rappers when in all actuality, she was handed her success. Trina was the only female rapper doing shit big from 2005 to 2009 and then Lil’ Wayne said, everybody look at my new bitch Nicki Minaj and everybody did. Don’t get me wrong, Nicki can rap, but she’s just a gimmick to me, I can’t take her serious because she’s too comical. Trina isn’t the best female rapper ever, but she’s goes harder than Nicki IMHO. Nicki’s songs are just catchy with radio friendly hooks and her lyrics get very repetitive after a while.

@Tone Please don’t try & compare them (Nicki & Trina!) There both great artist in their own right! S/O to Trina cuz she has been doin dis ish since 1999 & is still relavent! I fucks wit her…N the reason ppl say Nicki brought the females back on the rap scene is jus becuz she came wit sum whole different shxt! She has shown her versatility on multiple tracks & was able to reach a larger fan base than a lot of female artist..U can say she’s a gimmick bcuz of pop beats & catchy hooks but if u actually listen to what she sayin its remarkable! N to b honest this is the music biz, EVERYONE has a gimmick to sell records where it b targeted towards the hood or whether it b international…So S/O to both girls & all the rest of them makin good, quality music & cashin dem checks!!
