Lil Wayne and Birdman

Bryan “Birdman” Williams is busting out the big guns for his fifth solo album Bigga Than Life. The Cash Money Records CEO is readying the release of his first single “Why You Mad?” featuring Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, a track that he describes as “clubbish, uptempo, hot.”

Baby, who is eyeing a July 5 release, is putting the finishing touches on the star-studded set, which will include guest appearances from his YMCMB cohorts as well as Game. “We’re still recording,” he told Billboard. “I don’t have to turn it in ’til next month, so we continue to record, ’cause that’s how we work. I’m content with what I have now, though.”

Once the album drops, the music mogul will link back up with Weezy for a sequel to their 2006 joint effort Like Father, Like Son, with plans for a late 2011 release. “We’re looking to do that in December some time, after we all drop our solo albums and go on tour,” he explained. “We have a lot of songs we did before [Wayne] went [to jail], and we’ve been working since he came home. All we’ve got to do is pick. And Wayne likes to be fresh with our music, so we might wait and just knock out 20 songs right quick and put those on the album.”
