Eve stings back on her freestyle over Rihanna’s “Man Down,” this week’s Monster Mondays giveaway. Over the reggae-inflected beat, the pit bull in a skirt deals with an aggravated boyfriend, reaching her breaking point with his abusive behavior. “Ayo, it all started with a simple conversation/ Everything was good until we had that altercation/ Screamin’ in my face, he shoulda known I wouldn’t take it/ Shoulda been long gone, but the fire in me faced it,” she raps. Listen to see if E-V-E keeps her cool.

@lucy, She didn’t just call Kim old, she just said Eve’s rendition or verse was better then Kim’s. That is what we call a simple compare and contrast. Did you drop out or something? Kim was brought up because she remade the song too, and since they are both rappers, it makes their verses comparable.

I was a fan of Lil’ Kim during the Hardcore era (though I was still more into Foxy and Mia X back then), but the fact of the matter is Kim just has not been bringing the heat lately, and I said this even BEFORE I knew who or what a Nicki Minaj was. The Ms. GOAT and freestyles, and especially the Black Friday Mixtape was a…. TRAGEDY. Read the Hip Hop sites and message boards beyond Rap-up (which caters to younger kids). A lot of people can’t stand Nicki Minaj, but still think the stuff that Kim has been dropping is wack.

Now a days no female rapper can do anything without Nicki’s name coming up, In my opinion Lil Kim & Eve did a good job on with their remix, alotta people are gonna say Lil Kim did not do good because of the beef she has with Nicki Minaj, but if people look past that old situation and focus on the music then everything would be ok, you can’t even compare Nicki to Kim, Eve, Trina, etc… because their better then her, but…. Eve did a very good job and i’m ready for her to make that BIG comeback. : )
