If you just can’t wait for new music from Beyoncé, a snippet of the first single from her fourth album has leaked. An official title has yet to be announced (“Girl” or “Girls (Who Run the World)” are two possibilities). Produced by Diplo, the girl power anthem features a sample of Major Lazer’s “Pon de Floor” with Bey singing, “You better not play me.” You’ve been warned.

Sounds good but i better not here nonsense about originality because “pon de floor” has been sample way too many times. As good as it sounds, i’m tired of being taken back to 09. Forreall. Atleast “ass on the floor” only sampled the drum loop and not the entire beat.

This is gonna have people thinking that its original and thats the problem with the industry. Most people have no idea who “Major Lazer” is because there not “HIP”. Beyonce is basically taking a non mainstream beat and making it mainstream. Im so disapointed. The beat is house, dubstep, reggae/Dancehall and beyonce is a R&B/Pop artist. Rap-up knows the deal they did a post on Major Lazer before ive been a fan of there music since they dropped “Guns Dont Kill People, Lazers do” It was named the 10th best album of 2009 by Rhapsody. I’ve read down this list of comments… and the biggest issue here seems to be that Beyonce is sampling Major Lazer’s “Pon De Floor”… but it’s not like it is the first time Beyonce has sampled a song. Did we forget that “Crazy In Love” sampled The Chi-Lites’ “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)”?

Sampling shouldn’t be the issue. People sample all the time. So what?

I admit, this is nothing at all like what I expected from Beyonce. Does this sample anticipate a bad song? No. From the sample I can hear this being a good song in full. This may not be Beyonce’s greatest work. But I don’t see Beyonce releasing anything horrible.

I await the official release.

this actually does seem like growth to me. it isnt oozing with synthesizers like most pop is right now. i think the hook (another snippet leaked btw) is very untypical and it sounds pretty nice to me. Now, if this was slathered with synths and had an autotuned hook then it would not be original. should be bangin when it premieres tomorrow

everybody was disappointed about single ladies and said it was just get me bodied part 2, everyone soon went crazy for that when they heard it properly and saw the video and it became her biggest song yet…….. STOP JUDGING UNTIL YOU HEAR THE SONG IN FULL AND SEE THE VIDEO!!!!!!!

Are you kidding me? I have no idea why they’ve sampled Pon de Floor………… ! Could of been better without. Pon de Floor was big over here in the UK. And it was remixed/sampled a ridiculous amount of times. SO already this 18 second clip makes it sounds dated, just saying. Still looking forward to rest of new stuff

This would be better for like nicki minaj, it needs a rapper. Maybe Ciara, cus her voice is softer and would flow more with this. Beyonce needs a beat with less breaks, because for some reason, her voice always sounds prolonged. At least, Rihanna and Ciara alter their tempo. Ciara: breathy, opera, rap, singing. Rihanna: singing, loud, rap (All of the Lights”. This is such a rip off. Plus for all fans that say this isnt the whole song, Beyonce leakes this and she probobly made sure to leak the best part of the song. NEXT

I really can’t judge the song, but I’m not impressed so far. I hope the “Pon de Floor” sample eventually breaks up into another beat. I love “Pon de Floor,” but I don’t want Beyonce using the beat too much on her song. This is not groundbreaking at all. This would be cute for a mixtape, but not for the first single off a studio album.
