Lady Gaga explores holy territory on “Judas,” the controversial second single from her forthcoming album Born This Way, due May 23. The RedOne-produced dance number, which features aggressive percussion and bombastic synths, touts religiously-minded lyrics and a dance floor-ready power chorus.
“I’m just a holy fool, oh baby he’s so cruel/ But I’m still in love with Judas, baby,” sings Mother Monster. “I wanna love you/ But something’s pulling me away from you/ Jesus is my virtue/ And Judas is the demon I cling to.”
Does Gaga have another hit on her hands? Listen below.
@Ryan, everyone doesnt have to like what you like, those people are intitled to their opinion.
Im tired of people attacking others with a different oppinion than their own. go to a fansite if you want complete ass kissing
some crazy ass girl killed her cat so she could wear blood to the lady gaga concert. why was it her family cat & they found the cats liver in her cosmetic bag. this influence lady gaga has is inspiring some crazed events. songs like judas? umm… what message is this sending. like, for real?!
@jeremydante,and the sad thing about this is the album is going to be #1 and sells millions and all her singles are going to be #1,and people like me and you who don’t approve of her message in her songs,is going to be labeled as haters, and they going to say in your face hater Gaga is winning so F you.

Really? Like i’ve been a fan of her music it took me a minute to get use too her music. Now this track right here i don’t know she’s like back and forth with the message in her music, but she’s making money.
Awful song. Not because of the subject matter (I’m not a crazy Christian like some people here and I get more offended by gospel songs being shoehorned into an album than I do stuff like this), but because it sounds like the same trite Madonna-while-on-ecstasy-in-1991 BS that “Born This Way” was.

But I know that I will LOVE the video. So who cares about the music? Are there really people who are buying Lady Gaga songs??? I only watch her videos and love them, but would never spend money for her terrible video.

this is my interpretation. she serves god but she is still tempted. like everyone on the planet. sin looks more pleasurable(judas). like fornication. it’s a sin but not everyone can w8 til marriage. she is not telling someone to worship the devil dumb #@&*s! i lerv it! and i’m a proud member of #RihannaNavy so there is no bias here!

I didnt get to hear the track because they removed it but this seems a bit too much…..she had born this way that sounded similar to madonna’s express yourself, now she has a song called judas, a religious pop song similar to like a prayer, i like you GaGa but what is up?
Lady GaGa rules!
May, the best month in this 2011
first Turtleneck & Chain by Lonely Island
and then Born This Way by Lady GaGa
2011 are the best year for hip-hop music!
There’s too much going on in the song for me to enjoy it. The beat is pretty heavy and her vocals are as well. It just sounds like chaos. I don’t like it.
There’s too much thing to focus on in this song. The beat, the vocals, the LYRICS ! I dont like it yet but It seems that she has another number 1 on Hot 100 BB. I would like Rihanna to have this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gaga is just another puppet of the society. Plus, for the people like us who hate this song I dont understand why this song is number one on iTunes.. I guess people buy this shit just because its Gaga
@KAVION, Just because its popular doesnt make it good.
I like her but not this. Some things should just be left alone. Religion is one. It just creates too much conflict. People are aloud opinions but not everyone needs to here it. Celebrities have lots of exposure and should be responsible about it.
Just another mainstream hit, well produced by RedOne, and will rank among Katy Perry’s “E.T.”, Rihanna’s “S&M” and BEP’s “I just can’t get enough” in the top of the Billboard Chart. But that’ll be just it IMO.
there is nothin good about giving into temptation but it is reality. stop being so damn self righteous.like you have never been tempted b4. the song is too deep tho to be pop. cz in pop music the lyricism doesn’t really matter. the cookie cutter pop fans can’t appreciate deep songs. their brains are jello lol
CUM ON GUYS! ITS SO OBVIOUS GAGA IS A DEVIL WORSHIPER AND RIRI (RIRI SAID SO CHECK YOUTUBE) BEY. JAY EVERY1 I DNT CARE ATTACK ME WHEN JUDGMENT DAY COMES LETS SEE IF YOUR FAV CAN P*SSY POP THEIR OUT OF THS! REMEMBER YOU GOING DOWN WITH THEM ITS YOUR CHOICE. I REBUKE LADY GAGA
It’s just more generic head-drool from a trendsexual stylistic tryhard. “HEY, LETS REFERENCE PEOPLE FROM THE BIBLE! THIS’LL MAKE ME SEEM EDGY”
No, it makes you sound like an asshole trying really hard for peoples reactions just so you can say how interesting or “creepy” you are. People like this don’t need attention. If anything they just need to be cut down so that actual creative people can blossom instead of this Grace Jones wannabe.
@GRRRR, I agree! I feel like she thinks she has to push the envelope and “try” to create controversial songs. Funny thing is, I think her fun pop songs like “Just Dance,” “Lovegame” and “Telephone” is her best work. They’re fun and are supposed to be taken lightly. This song isn’t too bad, it’s just the lyrical theme leaves me scratching my head.
This is just another attempt at moving up the charts…lame! Funny she has to use religious topics to sell a record, fame only lasts but a second…life is eternal…and we wonder why our youth are so messed up….lady gaga camp please shut it down….that is all
TERRIBLE! Really Gaga your are my favourite singer! I used to listen to rock songs but after listening to ur music i changed my mind! so i started to listen to this song. but this song is really very disappointed me !!She did this song just for the sake of gaining money! like c’mon this bullshit.. why does she has to make songs like this like c’mon we know ur good make real music & leave these bullshit!!
This song is #hardcore and I can’t stop listening to it!! Repeat button all day, everyday!! I don’t know why people are accusing her of being in the Illuminati, listen to the lyrics people, it’s freaking poetry!! Natural Talent!! 2011 is Mother Monster’s Year!! JUDAS!!
@Mr.Artisticated, Honey, she is part of the illuminati if you did your research. She’s not even tring to cover it up. (Think back to her 2009 performance and study the symbolism in the performance and the entire show) Anywho, I’m sure the music and beat is fantastic but I wont be listening to it after reading the lyrics first. I’m going to pray for her instead of bashing her because that is what real Christians do. I guess I will just be putting the Fame on repeat. Really miss the old school Gaga. You know with the hair bows, sparkly masks, and lightning bolts
@Mr.Artisticated, Agree. It is actually deeper than most people think. The haters will always be there, but that’s life. And we all die 100 years from now, so whatever. Enjoy the song if you like. Change the channel if you don’t.
Judas is a metaphor for a bad boy, bad relationship, abusive relationship, what have you…that ignorant girls fall for. They know it’s bad for them, but they go back to it. It does not glorify Judas the biblical person at all. The song is quite simple to decipher & cleverly mixed with religious references, which obviously influences her songwriting.
She seems obscessed with Christianity. I’m sure it’s cuz something about it seems a paradox — preaching about love, yet demonizing a group of people at the same time.

I didnt get to hear the track because they removed it but this seems a bit too much…..she had born this way that sounded similar to madonna’s express yourself, now she has a song called judas, a religious pop song similar to like a prayer, i like you GaGa but what is up?

The 90s are over, Gaga ! LOL.

Keep trying. Maybe she should just go around hitting people on the head with a mallet, her efforts are so obvious. This has all the subtlety of that.

This is just another attempt at moving up the charts…lame! Funny she has to use religious topics to sell a record, fame only lasts but a second…life is eternal…and we wonder why our youth are so messed up….lady gaga camp please shut it down….that is all
