Teairra Mari is a genie in a bottle in the Nick Palmer-directed video for “Stay,” a cut off last year’s mixtape The Night Before X-Mas. In the provocative visuals, a construction worker stumbles upon a genie’s lamp that contains the sexy vixen, who seduces him with her magical moves as she works the pole. Rub her the right way in the smoldering new clip.

LOL, I just can’t hate Teairra. I think this video is pretty corny but I admire this woman’s hustle. She has experienced the ups and downs of the music industry but she doesn’t let anything stop her from doing what she loves; and that’s making music. I wonder if she has to pay out of her own pocket for these music videos. Over the last year she has released what, like 7 videos??? I’ll always support this woman though, I have since DAY ONE.

The video looks real cheap. But, like@Kyle said, you can’t knock her hustle. Most would’ve gave up already. She’s releasing mixtape after mixtape, single after single, video after video. Her vocals & this song is on point though.

As a few others stated I like the song but not the video although I do respect her hustle for keeping on pushing! I have been a fan of Teairra since the beginning too & don’t understand why she isn’t more known or had more success either! I hate to keep making the comparison but it’s inevitable because they both came in at the same time but I always said Tea was a better singer & better looking & sexier then Rihanna but never got her just due cause of Ri having the spotlight! That’s no knock on Ri either because she’s still very sexy & beautiful & artist in her own right & I love both of them! Being a fan of Teairra I hate to admit it but Rihanna is just a better overall pop artist while Teairra is more straight to the point type & other great type R&B which is 1 reason I think she isn’t as known worldwide as she probably could be!

The concept is very interesting. Teairra Mari plays a seductive Genie who is trapped in her lamp for centuries and has held a sexy young man hostage to keep her company. Though the young man is lured in by the genie’s beauty, he tells her that he has to leave her, so the Genie tempts him with her sexual advances, begging him to stay. Initially, I was turned off by the snap shots of Mari in her sex prowess get up because I thought she was lowering her talent by boosting up a more sexier image. However, I really like her material and I must admit, the girl has the complete package. Not too many young women I know can flaunt off their best assets with pride and confidence. I even went as far as to tweet Teairra what I thought about her newfound provocative image (to read my Twitlonger post, go here—> twitlonger.com/show/9jf5ln). However, I will cease my judgement for a limited time and “see the bigger picture” of the video concept. But, this girl has one more time to show her ass and I’m done, LOL! She’s beautiful, she can sang (I heard her live here in Chicago), and her talent, her light soprano voice, her persona, that sauciness she has and diligence, can elevate her to new heights. I don’t wanna see her become an empty vessel trapped in a beauty body dishing out manufactured songs. Only time will tell…I’m looking forward to her upcoming mixtape Now Or Never. :)

I love Teairra Mari’s hustle, and although she has been relegated to the artist that everyone would prefer to hate on rather than support, I respect the way that she does not allow all the dream-killers to take away from her grind. As always, Teairra Mari puts her best foot forward and offers another song that is solid vocally and lyrically – however, there is still that “it” factor that her material is lacking, which cannot be compensated for with sexuality. In order to gain the fan support that she deserves, I would urge Teairra’s team to try something different but still within the vein of what she comfortable with – R&B music. Teairra is gorgeous and naturally sensual, so the focus on making her overly sexual might be doing to much. Homegirl can walk in a room, and people can notice her sex appeal – that’s one thing she has that a lot of other artist don’t have. I love her styling and her hair, and the ideas behind the videos are really enjoyable!!! I would encourage Teairra’s producers to tap into other genres (i.e classical/opera, African music, Brazilian music, Swedish music, etc.), because there are definitely other types of music that she can fuse with R&B and create something new, interesting, and hot!!!! At any rate, Team Teairra all day everyday – keep grinding ma, you will definitely get your shine, because what HE has for you no person, force, hater, nor negative comment can keep that blessing away from you!!!!

I love Teairra Mari and even more so because she isn’t jumping on everyone else’s bandwagon. She is staying true to R&B. Mostly everything she is doing comes out of her own pocket. It’s only a mixtape song and it sounds better than half the mess out now. As for her getup… she could tone it down a bit, but hell she looks great!!!

I think the video concept was creative but they needed to be a little more clear with genie idea maybe went all the way in. Song is hot and Teairra is hot too. Who produced this joint? Warner needs to push her full speed and stop teasing us……
