Rap-Up.com || Swizz Beatz Gives ‘Anne’ to Lil Wayne, Produces for ‘Watch the Throne’

Lil Wayne’s long-awaited collaboration with Swizz Beatz has alluded fans, but it’s finally been tracked down. The Eminem-inspired record called “Anne” has been claimed by Weezy.

Originally set to appear on Swizz’ Haute Living album, the track was given to the Young Money rapper in exchange for a verse on Swizz’ “Rock ‘N’ Roll” single, the super-producer told Rap-Up.com at a recent listening. While unconfirmed, “Anne” may find a home on Tha Carter IV.

On the nostalgic song, for which a snippet leaked, Wayne tells Anne he’s sorry what happened to Stan. Swizz initially submitted “Anne” for Eminem’s Relapse album under the title “Stan 2.”

He also revealed that he has contributed a big beat for Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint album Watch the Throne and was recently in the studio with M.I.A., completing five to six songs for both their projects.

I think this was recorded before he went to prison, because Swizz Beatz talked about it in 2010. Also I hope “John” was recorded before he went to prison because it was fucking horrible and if the rest of Tha Carter IV sounds like that it will be complete shit.

but yall dont understand, weezy’s rap style is not like em’s!!! weezy focuses on metaphors and punchlines about materialistic stuff, while em just focuses on life…..but who has more connection to fans???? @K-Freshhz, while I do concur that Weezy’s style isn’t like Em’s (though it can be argued that it was influenced by Em’s style), your argument doesn’t make sense. If Em raps about life, and Weezy raps about materialistic stuff, then, naturally, who would fans relate to more? I personally can’t relate to grandiose, bacchanalian living standards. Weezy HAS made songs that had meaning (“La La La,” etc.), but the capability to make meaningful songs alone won’t cement your legacy as “the best rapper alive.” You gotta be consistently meaningful, especially if you are one of the ones touting the “hip-hop is alive” banner.
