Rap-Up.com || Birdman Denies Trying to Sign Soulja Boy to Cash Money

After Soulja Boy revealed that Birdman had approached him about signing to his label, the Cash Money honcho has spoken out and refuted the claim.

“YMCMB busine$$ real talk.I neva tried 2 sign n0b0dy thts already sign 2 s0meb0dy,” tweeted Birdman. “we d0nt r0ck like tht.I neva tried 2 sign s0ulja.but I respect tha lil h0mey wrk keep getn it$$$$.”

In a previous interview with Rap-Up.com, Soulja Boy explained that he recently met with Birdman in Miami to talk about joining the YMCMB roster. “I met with Baby and Slim down in Miami,” he said. “He’s trying to get me to come over to Cash Money.”

While he was considering the move, the 20-year-old rapper was unable to immediately act on it because he owed his current label two more albums. “I still got paperwork with Interscope Records, so I’m just trying to figure out what I’ma do,” he continued. “After I do these two albums, I either have the choice to go back to Interscope and re-up, do my contract over, or I can go down to Miami with Cash Money.”

Even though I think he’s ignant as hell, I fully believe Birdman. Soulja Boy isn’t getting attention for his music anymore, so he’s taking the 50 Cent approach to marketing yourself, which is stir up controversy and get your name out there to keep people talking about you.

To tell u the truth Soulja Boy got really lucky when Crank That went big because it is something that he will never be able to do again. It was a catchy crap shoot song that kids ran with because it was stupidly catchy not because it was a song that people loved. Interscope wont make money off him especially from his album sales.

Birdman writes like a high school girl, but I think we’ll see Soulja Boy on Cash Money though, he’ll probably have him drop “boy” from his stage too, I’m too sure how the industry works but I know in some aspects a person can have multiple contracts under different monikers, but maybe that’s not the cash in music …I really don’t care, its 5am & I’m bored and love talking about the music biz lol but truth be told, Soulja didn’t sound too bad in “Digital”.
