Kelly Rowland is swiftly climbing the charts with her Lil Wayne-assisted single “Motivation,” and her peers couldn’t be happier for her success, including the song’s producer Jim Jonsin.
After a few attempts to break a single, the Destiny’s Child diva finally has a hit on her hands. “I’m really happy that things are going well for her on this record. A real concern for us was to get that smash for her,” the hitmaker told Rap-Up.com. “She’s a friend of ours as well, so to see her win is huge.”
In addition to “Motivation,” Jonsin and Rico Love recorded three other songs for Kelly’s third album Here I Am, including an upbeat collaboration with Pitbull. “I think we cut a total of four songs with Rico Love and myself,” he added. “I did something with Wayne Wilkins. There’s a couple uptempo songs and we did another midtempo record.”

She’s gonna be number 1 @ Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop songs!
But we need Billboard Hot 100 top 10 smash!
She needs more promo!!

@Josh, yea and they need to push up that damm album to the summer. I really dnt want her album to have that ciara affect. They waited so long that the hype from ride totally died down and no one was checking for her when the album was release 6-7 months later.

She’s #WINNING and shout out to all the haters that thought she couldn’t do it. Motivation is about to take over the Summer.

I’m glad to see her win too. This has been long overdue. Kelly’s very talented, her music is great, but she’s often overlooked and shaded.

@Dave, I agree with that she sounds great vocally esp in motivation! I remember hearing some blogs say that motivation was not single worthy but they were wrong!

I am very happy for Kelly :) Yet, i don’t understand why she has not promoted the song at all. She needs new management. She might want to give ole Mathew Knowles a call now that he is not preoccupied with Beyonce.

Kelly is always #Winning, but I don’t understand why she’s not striking while the iron’s hot. The album should be out before the end of June. Waiting until the Fall only leaves room for her album to leak and flop.

@ReedMAthon, I understand what you mean with the lack of promo (right now). I personally think she’s got the right team with her now. She’s doing the promo (radio) tour..and soon we’ll start to see live performances. She’s headlining Capitol Pride in a few weeks. (it’ll be all over youtube) The promotion is inevitable at this point. They will start major promotion soon. The song has “swiftly” moved up the r&b charts and will probably be at number one this thursday. When that happens and even now as it’s swiftly charted…the record company gets behind it…because they know $$dollar signs$$ are coming in. She’ll be on all the shows…it’s about to happen for her here in the states. And personally I believe that the album will come out earlier than expected.

i agree with you @mario. I would rather the album release date be pushed back than delayed. The difference between ciara and kelly is that ciara’s did not release the 2nd single(a track that had already leaked btw)until 6 months after the 1st single…. not a smart marketing move. I hope kelly’s next single is released in June. Then things will really start rolling…. #teamkelly

I really love this song. She is on her way to the top and it’s about time. I really would love for her and Letoya Luckett to hook up and do a duet together. That would be amazing. I’m just glad that she hung in there and never gave up. She finally found her confidence and she is shining like the true star she is. Go Kelly!!!
