Young Chris reinterprets LL Cool J’s 1995 classic “Hey Lover” for his mixtape L.I.F.E (Ladies In Free Everywhere), available May 24. The Philly rapper, who is signed to Rico Love’s Division 1 label, keeps the original crooners Boyz II Men on the track, catering to his crush with raunchy rhymes.
Oh snap! This was my SHIT! Back in the day! I’m glad he kept Boyz II Men on the track! I soo miss hearing their voices on the radio.
This dude did alright, but it’s just kinda hard when you remake a classic. It will always be compared to the original. LL’s voice was soo much smoother and less vulgar. This guy just took a classic song & made it soo nasty. It was too nasty for me. I’ll pass. But it’s just a mixtape so who cares!
