« Pitbull Performs with Ne-Yo on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ [Video]Lil’ Kim and Keyshia Cole Spar Over Friendship on Twitter »The Lonely Island, Tyler, the Creator Score Top 5 Debuts![]() Comedy trio The Lonely Island and Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator crash the albums chart this week, entering in the top 5 with their unconventional releases.
The “SNL” funnymen laugh their way onto the Billboard 200 at No. 3 with their sophomore LP Turtleneck & Chain. The follow-up to 2009’s Incredibad—which debuted at No. 13 with 48,000—sold 68,000 copies thanks in part to their collaborations with Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Akon, and more. Not far behind The Lonely Island is Tyler, the Creator, whose first commercial release Goblin creeps in at No. 5 with 45,000. OFWGKTA’s leader celebrated his victory on Twitter. “I AM THAT NI**A RIGHT NOW FUCK HARD WORK PAYED OFF YOU CANT TELL ME SHIT NI**UH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” exclaimed an excited Tyler. “50k Is So Much. Like, For Me, Maybe Not To You Guys Whos Used To Mariah Or BOB Selling Millions. Damn, This Is Fucking Wild Fuck.” Adele’s 21 reigns at the top for an eighth week, while Jennifer Lopez’s LOVE? drops 5-9 with 33,000. @IKNOWTHETRUTH, say what you want, but sales dont matter for shit. It’s still pretty good to see him so well without radio play or any major commercial promotion.

@IKNOWTHETRUTH, tyler’s the definition of self made. this dude would rather be poor than change his music for others. i think that’s more respectable than many artists that are selling millions.

@YAAAAS!, actually he says in one of his songs on the album he is not a devil worshiper. He just does it for the shock value and believes religion is funny .

WELL FOR SOME OF YOU THAT DON’T KNOW, MUSIC ARTIST MAKE MOST OF THEIR MONEY FROM CONCERTS AND SHIT. THEY DON’T GET AS MUCH FROM ALBUM SALES THEN THEY DO IN CONCERTS. I WANT TO SEE THIS KID TYLER THE CREATOR DO WELL, HE’S NOT LIKE THE TYPICAL “SELL OUT” RAPPER THAT WANTS TO SOME POP SHIT IN THEIR SONGS TO BE MAINSTREAM. HATERS CAN HATE BUT AT LEAST RESPECT WHAT HE’S TRYING TO DO; BRING A DIFFERENT TWIST TO WHAT IS NOW “SELL OUT HIP-HOP” >_> (SOME NOT ALL MAINSTREAM ARTISTS AND ONE-HIT WONDERS)

Congrats to The Lonely Island – their work is seriously hilarious and the music/vids are very slick/well-produced.
