Rap-Up.com || New Music: Skylar Grey – ‘Dance Without You’

Skylar Grey dances to the beat of her own drum on the full version of her buzz single “Dance Without You,” set to appear on her forthcoming KIDinaKORNER/Interscope debut Invinsible. After penning hits for Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Diddy-Dirty Money, the singer-songwriter declares her independence on the crashing Alex Da Kid production.

“I want to dance without you/ For once just let me lose myself,” demands the 25-year-old Wisconsin native.

Expect an official single later this month followed by the album in fall. “I wanted to release ‘Dance Without You’ as a free download because everyone has been so patient waiting for my solo material,” she told AOL Music. “It is just a little teaser before my official single comes out later this month, and a taste of what’s on my album.”

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! this beat is absolutely and utterly SICK!!!! the song is alright but all im focused on is the BEAT!!!!!

I feel like this is what beyonce really wanted tho…something with a different vibe and a different sound

The beat’s a little busy/loud for me, but I dig her voice and the vibe that she has. Excited to see what she comes up with because I enjoyed her first album.

She’s not very poppy and I like that a lot. I think a bunch of people are hoping for another kesha or lady gaga but ya gotta say, her lyricism is a lot better and her talents are more gritty. This is basically not gonna do great because her voice has mainly been heard by hip hop heads and are gonna be expecting something generic. I’m hoping she doesn’t do that. This is real good in my opinion.
