She’s penned hits for megastars such as Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Diddy, but Skylar Grey still feels “Invisible” on the first single from her KIDinaKORNER/Interscope debut Invinsible, coming this fall. Produced by Alex Da Kid and co-written by Skylar and Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas, the dark midtempo is for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked with lyrics like, “Even when I’m walking on a wire/ Even when I set myself on fire/ Why do I always feel invisible?”
“['Invisible'] is where I started out when I moved up to the woods and I was trying to find out who I was in the world because I felt very lost,” the 25-year-old singer-songwriter tells Ryan Seacrest. “Then I came out of that whole experience with this new found strength and I made me feel invincible, the whole theme of the album tells that story.”
I don’t really like it. Her vocals sound thin and empty. I really like the songs she written that other people have sang, but her voice doesn’t really do it for me.
I find Skylar quite interesting. I can tell she has an ear for music, and that she’s crafting her own sound (with Alex). However personally I don’t think her vocals are as strong as the other female singers :/ I wouldn’t be surprised if she flops in today’s music industry.
I can feel what she’s saying in the lyrics, the beat is decent, it’s not a bad song. I don’t think it will do too well in today’s music industry. Everyone only likes airheaded party songs by talent-less hacks like Kesha. This is good, still she made some dope songs as Holly Brook. You should check “It’s Raining Again” if you haven’t already it’s a really dope song
she in her 20′s but she not a new artist, if u heard ne of her other songs she’s obviously not trying to be the new dido. i like her music, but there is a possibility her record might not have great commercial success, some people will just have better success at being songwriters.
Skylar has been in the industry for awhile, she just changed her name. Her name use to Holly Brook. I like her older stuff much better. The song is cool.

@Darnelll, remember this is a cheap radio rip…the beat itself seems empty…wait for the mastered version
