Alicia Keys strokes a different set of keys on “Typewriter,” a previously unreleased track included on the 10th anniversary editions of her debut songs in A minor, re-releasing June 28. The Grammy-winning songstress pours her soul into her writing instrument on the Krucial Keys production, which was recorded in Alicia’s Harlem apartment in 1997.
“You’re my typewriter/ I write to you what I am thinking/ You capture what I’ve said,” she sings on the subtle tune. Fourteen years later and it still sounds just as sweet.
@Christy,
Stated very well. Anything she does is amazing and I’m sure that song and some others probably should have made it on the album. She’s just too talented.

I love it. “You’re my typewriter/ I write to you what I am thinking/ You capture what I’ve said,” just like a diary. Great concept.

The fact that she (and many other artist) have some of their best material locked away and go on to put out sub par music astounds me

It’s ok, I’m not crazy about it. Then again, this is a song that couldn’t even make it onto her first album…
