Rap-Up.com || Beyoncé’s First-Week Sales Predictions

All eyes are on Beyoncé, whose new album 4 arrived in stores this week. Without a massive hit and a premature leak, just how will the superstar fare on the charts? Early sales predictions are in.

According to chart experts HITS Daily Double, B’s fourth offering is expected to debut at No. 1 with 275,000-300,000 copies in its first week based on preliminary figures. This would mark her fourth No. 1 solo debut on the Billboard 200. Her previous album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, opened with 482,000 in November 2008. These numbers are not final and are subject to change.

Beyoncé has been making high-profile appearances overseas this week to promote the project, which leaked three weeks in advance of its street date. She will return to the U.S. to perform on the “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series on Friday.

Other debuts next week include Big Sean, whose G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam release Finally Famous is approaching the 90,000-95,000 range.

Colombia Records is HORRIBLE. Beyonce could have had a wayyy better produced album. it could have easily been givin to an artist on there very first debut. Beyonce is a superstar now so she needs an album to showcase that and i feel this album is her worst. B day was better, Sacha Fierce was better, hell even her First album was better. She needs to find producers who can create a whole new sound for her because this album is playing it very safe its nothing new. Come with something new like cmon its just so boring hearing her new album so disappointed.

I am 100% satisfied with those #’s. As long as she gets a #1 debut (4th consecutive #1) is all I care about which that is already guaranteed. I’m happy with the way this project has taken off, especially considering the initial response was pretty shaky. At the end of the day, it’s Beyonce and she definitely has a solid legion of fans. I LOVE THE ALBUM!

@rockwitu, Sorry but that’s not true. It wasn’t the right length to qualify as a double disc. An album has to be 80 minutes in length to be qualified as a double disc and IASF was nowhere near that length. I think the last album to really do that was Outkast’s “Speakerboxxx/TheLoveBelow.” Christina Aguilera’s double disc “Back To Basics” didn’t even qualify as a double disc, so yeah, IASF sold 3 million in the U.S. as a SINGLE DISC and 482,000 first week sales as a SINGLE DISC:)

Brilliant cd that grows on you with each listen.I love how her vocals have improved and how she has grown artistically rather than focusing on commercial hits.
However she has dominated 4 so long that I think we were expecting “more”…it just feels as if something is missing from “4″.
I’m sure the videos will be brilliant as always but its hard 2 find that “hit”besides” party” and a ballad.
I do admire her originality in not following the “guetta sound” and auto-tuned breezy sound which every artist is mimicking now.so even if it doesn’t turn out to be the commercial success every1 is debating about I do see the evolution of B moving onto bigger and better things.

Beyoncé may not be shutting down the game, but why should she? This woman has already proven herself multiple times. I am a huge fan, but I don’t lose any sleep over the fact that Adele sold more… Adele is an incredible artist as well, she’s getting recognized for what she does and that’s something positive. Don’t try to turn it into something negative, just ’cause you’re bitter. Beyoncé has nothing to do with Adele’s albumsales. Artists don’t compete with each other. When necessary, they’ll compete with themselves. But, in the first place, music is a form of art, not a competition.
