Fresh off a flight from London where she was taping Britain’s “Popstar to Operastar,” Melody Thornton spoke with Rap-Up TV about being voted off the singing competition (“It’s difficult being American on a show in the U.K.”) and her new single “Sweet Vendetta” off her forthcoming solo debut.

“I’m hoping by next year I should have something together as far as an album goes, but we’re just doing it song by song,” said the former Pussycat Doll. “I did ‘Sweet Vendetta’ on a shoestring budget. I’m funding it myself, independent artist.”

Melody has developed a liking for classical music after her time on “Popstar” and plans to incorporate it into her future. “I really love it now,” she shared.

I love Melody, shes got an awesome personality and she comes off as such a go-getter. I admire her hustle and the fact that she is funding her own independent project too…it goes to show that she is passionate about her career.

I love HEEEER!!! Her personality is so funny. ‘Sweet Vendetta’ is a TUNE! Plus, iam lovin that shes a hustler! She aint waiting for nobody. I hope she gets signed to like Jive/Epic or even Polow da don/Interscope.
She has a great big voice and a fun humour so she deserves furture success. Kudos

…well, she’s kind of all over the place; which you hear back into her vocals. Ones she learns how to be a little less extra-extra, I think she can definitely go places with her music. Haven’t checked out “Sweet Vendetta” yet, might do that right after I finish this comment. Hopefully the hard work will pay off, since she’s really trying to do this on her own. You gotta respect a woman that knows how to hold her own, in a business as competitive as the music industry.
