Ashanti has been locked up in the studio working on her first album since 2008’s The Declaration. The R&B chanteuse tweeted a photo from last night when Lil Wayne dropped by her sessions. “Jus had the funniest convo with @liltunechi he’s hilarious!!! #studioswag #funtimesinthelab,” she wrote.

Could we see a collabo in the near future? Ashanti is expected to drop a new single within the next few weeks and has launched her own label called Written Entertainment.

@Erica, Lmao!!! Wiki is full of lies most of the time. But yeah, the label wasn’t created this week. Just like Alicia keys, most of these artists have to create their own label to allow themselves to sing artistically and freely, the way they want to.
