« Chris Brown Ignites Rockefeller Plaza for ‘Today’ Show [Video]Behind the Video: Pusha T f/ Tyler, the Creator – ‘Trouble on My Mind’ »New Music: Leona Lewis – ‘Collide’![]() Leona Lewis comes crashing back at full speed with “Collide,” the first single from her third album, due this November. Penned by Autumn Rowe (Alexis Jordan’s “Happiness”) and produced by Sandy Vee (“Firework,” “S&M”), the piano-driven number builds into a dance floor anthem, with the iron-piped diva belting about feeling an instant chemistry. “It is a summer song that has a really good vibe,” explained the British songstress. “I just feel like dancing around to it. I love the energy and happiness I feel when I listen to it.” Does Leona have a smash on her hands? Listen and decide.

A great way for Leona to return: vocally, lyrically and production-wise enhanced. A definite summer song, better than I expected.

I love Leona, but I honest can’t say I’m too moved by this song. I’m glad she tried something different from ballads though. I’m sure it will be a hit in the U.K.

@yooo, Wow! She really can’t win. She releases a ballad, people critise her so she does an uptempo song, and still people aren’t happy

@Paul, is not that she needs to make a ballad or uptempo..she just needs a GOOD SONG! She has the Jennifer Hudson factor..girl with a big voice but no material to back it up. Mariah Carey was able to execute hits because she is a brilliant song writer.

@yooo, ^mariah has been making hits because she only makes radio songs, nicki minaj saved her last album

@WRTR?, mariah’s last album sucked and get the f**k outta here with that nicki minaj talk. Although Mariah’s last album sucked she has 20 number one hits–the most from any artists of all time so radio hits or not she has the credentals to back it up..

Sounds really different than the type of dance-pop we’re hearing these days. Sounds like she’s sampling Penguin Cafe Orchestra-Perpetuum Mobile in the background.
Love this song

@Poisonous, ok so keeping on with the trends is more important than carving youre own nitche in the music industry? SMH youre the reason why music is in the state is in because u rather hear music thats trendy instead of different. hang it up bitch

i love love love this song. its pop/dance but totally different than wats out right now, maybe becuz she can actually sing. but leona cant catch a break, when she sings serious strong ballads people say her music sounds too mature and boring for her young audience. but when she does more pop stuff ppl still complain

Not feeling it… I’m not impressed by her new single. She should follow Adele (because it’s her real music style) and not make those kind of music! Her voice is so beautiful. I guess that ‘Spirit’ will always be her best album!

Let an artist be whatever he wants to be.
When she was on ballads people said “oh no, she needs to make up-tempo records”. Now that she’s putting herself out of her comfort zone and trying something new, people critize her.

I must admit I wasn’t shaw when I first heard it, but it has grown on me, and anyone who says it’s crap or says she is stupid is wrong and a bit cunt, she is an amazing talent, has a great voice and ”collide” will be the summer anthem of 2011 in the UK

This is supposed to be RAP-UP.com…covering HIP-HOP and R&B music.
She’s neither one…so why are we covering her?

I have to be honest, I wasn’t sure about this song at first… I love Leona and actually got a little upset thinking this wasn’t going to help her get where she needs to go.
This isn’t the sort of song that you necessarily like straight away… but the more you hear it, the more you like it. Bleeding love was great, so is happy and all those songs by her, but they were all songs you can get sick of after hearing the so much.
This song is so catchy and really leaves an impression after a while. I love this song now. Spirit was amazing, Echo was an improvement overall and this album is shaping up to be a hit maker.

So, Avicii works on an original track from the Penguin cafe Orchestra, sends it out for vocals to be added, then complains when Leona releases a record with vocals?
It seems as though he will still get a cut of the royalties – and this will be a monster hit.

vapid vapid vapid song. I like songs like “Happy” I like songs in her first album. She can be a hit or a miss with the songs they give her. She should pick up writing music. Idk but this song is bad. Uptempo music aren’t that interesting anyways since thats what everyone go for and rely way too much on the instrument than the lyrics and melody.
