Melanie Fiona longs for some lovin’ on the reggae-flavored “Like I Love You” off her upcoming mixtape The MF Mixtape, the predecessor to her sophomore album The MF Life. “‘Cause I could be your Bonnie if you could be my Clyde/ Make this last forever ’cause I’m down for the ride/ And even if we fall, I’d rather risk it all than say that we never tried,” belts the Canadian songbird over the swaying rhythm. Escape to Melanie’s island paradise.
I love it when Melanie does reggae flavored songs like this. “Somebody Come Get Me” is still one of my favorite songs by her. What the hell is going on with her second album??? It was supposed to drop earlier this year and since then I have heard absolutely nothing about it. I’ve been waiting forever it seems. COME ONNNNNNN.
Love This! Well Melanie is CAribbean! Her Parents Are Guyanese! Rihanna mother is from Guyana. A South American Country, with Caribbean Heritage, it is next to Trinidad! Much Success Melanie Fiona! Guyana and the Entire Caribbean Loves You Girl!
Ghana is NOT GUYANA! Ghana is Africa! Guyana is South American ANd Caribbean! Melanie’s Family is From Guyana! Two Different places! Love Melanie Fiona!
This song was clearly written by Andrea martin who is west indian. She had an album. Love her work. check her out she is a great songwriter who wrote. “Before you walk out of my life” for Monica back in 1995. Their tones are similar that’s why we enjoy Melanie and Angie stone. Because of Andrea. sad to say.
* Speechless ,Its just that amazing !? Which is rare !?
Understand that the beats sound like Rihanna ” Man Down ” But Truth be told ” Man Down ” aint got nothing on this song Hands down !?
A really amazing record from Melanie who has such a great voice! I agree with Kyle about really loving when she does raggae flavored songs like this cause she sounds so great on them! Can’t wait for the mixtape & her new album!

The beat is unoriginal. Beautiful voice but she should stick to more R&B.
