She was a manic depressive, who refused medication. She probably died of an OD but i say it was intentional. Manic depressives can’t live long without medication. And usually if they don’t take it, they find their own meds to get thru the day… The darkness gets in their head.. Had her parents done to her what the spears did to Britney she might have had a chance! This death could’ve been prevented..

Can I also add that her death is not sudden? I don’t know who came up with that… The woman was an addict. This was where she was headed all along. But no one gave a damn till it actually happened. Some people should’ve known better.

Back to Black was my favorite Album. The first time I heard it, I was up late working on an Art project. I remeber thinking, this is the kind of album I’d record if I could make music. The 3 minute songs and blues like vocals put me in the mind of Etta James. Amy your music will be truly missed. I’m mad at you because I felt like you destroyed yourself on purpose. Like you were trying to create this, I don’t give a fuck, bad girl image and it backfired! I feel like you didn’t fight hard enough. But what do I know. I’m just a fan. Kids……….don’t do drugs, please. Never take a smoke, never take a drink. Just don’t do drugs because once you’re addicted it’s hard to recover.

Good people that respect their lives die all the time and noone even notice, but they notice a women that didnt care about her own well being. Her being famous doesnt make her life more speacial than anyone else.

Weather somenone has an “addiction” or not they makes the decisions in their life. You are responsible for how you turn out. Her music showed how seriously she took drug use. NOT AT ALL.

I find it interesting how fans seem to react to a celeberties death like it was someone they knew.

It really is unbelievable some of the comments people write. Dying of an OD is NO different than dying any other way. It doesn’t mean her family didn’t love her and it doesn’t mean that for the rest of their lives her parents will suffer knowing they outlived their daughter.

It’s sad, yes, and it shocked me, but at the same time it is not surprising. Why is when ppl die the support comes out? She needed positive energy when she was living. I never even listened to any of her music but I knew she needed help. Does anybody even KNOW what “enabling” means?! Even the fans take part if they support an artist that won’t get clean. More money from profits wasn’t what she needed. *sigh* But obviously she didn’t find what she truly needed in time. :(

People are comparing her to Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain??? Really?? Those people had talent! Those people put on awesome shows, those people deserved the credit. She had ONE bug selling album, with maybe 1-2 popular songs. She was a drug addict, alcoholic, who also had documented mental issues. Most reports said she hadn’t even really put on a stage performance, that anyone could understand anyway, I don’t see why people think she is such a star. She might have been able to WRITE a few good lyrics. But she in my eyes, was NOT a star. More of someone you try NOT to follow in their footsteps. She was no idol.. Everyone knew she would either take her own life, or die of her addictions. No one can live as hard as she lived without paying for it. It’s sad she had issues, it’s sad she died, but that’s why you make right choices, so the people you leave behind aren’t left picking up the pieces of a shattered life.. End of story,.. Move on please.
