Rap-Up.com || Ashanti Heats Up the Desert in New Promo Pic

Ashanti blooms in the desert in a new promo photo for her forthcoming album, her first since 2008’s The Declaration. The R&B chanteuse strikes a fierce pose against a rock, flaunting her fit physique in a black-and-gold bikini and flowing gold dress as she stares into the distance.

She has been in the studio with big names including Dr. Dre, Game, and Lil Wayne, and is expected to drop a new single in the next month. The new body of work was inspired by her time in Los Angeles and real-life experiences. Tracks include “Paradise” and “She Can’t.”

@LOVE?, Same here Rain On Me is one of the best songs ever from a female artist in my opinion. Ashanti is what you call an original artist every album she has ever put out has never disappointed me at all. From her debut to chapter 2 to Concrete Rose to the Decleration. All solid albums. This one should be just as good.

I am getting upset. I wanted to hear some damn music by her. I love Ashanti so much. I can not wait any longer. Lil Kim and Ashanti are the two artist that I am waiting for. They both have something to prove to the world how great they are. A lot of people do not give Ashanti the credit necessary. How many of your favs literally wrote 90% of their entire albums throughout their careers.

She looks flawless in that photo. I have been an Ashanti fan since day one and will always support her. So much has changed on the music scene since she first dropped so I’ll be interested to see if her music will resonate with listeners today. I think urban radio will always play her music though. Her debut album is an R&B classic in my book.

I’m going to be honest… That’s a beautiful picture of Ashanti.. Really nice. HOWEVER im going to wait to applause her until I hear an official single . Everybody is like here comes Real R&B because of Ashanti. She does need to work on her performances and stage presence. She may change shit up and drop a dance single or more like pop.. @Power3 – Her first album was an R&B classic mainly because it was filled with samples.

And not to be negative, but i don’t see her doing well for the simple fact that R&B isn’t selling the way it use to. So,she will most likely flop the way her last three albums have, unless she jumps on this Dubb step, dance music band wagon. And even then she still has to come hard.

Im so glad to see that most of the feedback on this page is positive and not negative. Ashanti is amazing. I always loved her since the Pun record. But she really made me fall deep when she sang HOME for the WIZ. Thats when I really knew this woman was an amazing talent. I do agree tho, she needs to work on her performance skills.
