Drake: ‘Stevie Wonder Is on ‘Take Care”

Stevie Wonder and Drake

Drake is making major moves on his sophomore album. October’s Very Own has nabbed a collaboration with the legendary Stevie Wonder for Take Care.

Backstage at his OVO Fest in Toronto on Sunday, the Canadian hip-hop star made the big announcement. “Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine. I’m honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business,” he told MuchMusic, adding, “Stevie Wonder is actually on Take Care.”

The two got a chance to work together in the studio and developed a rapport. “He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience,” shared Drizzy.

So all he had to do was pick up the phone when he wanted Wonder to perform at Sunday’s OVO Fest. “So I hit him, asked him to come by, and with no hesitation he hit me back like, ‘I will be there,’” said Drake. “Not only that, but he was supposed to do two songs and he did like six. It was incredible.”

Hear what their collaboration sounds like when Take Care drops on October 24.

It’s funny how people are going crazy over the collaboration, when Drake is wack! He doesn’t represent what Hip-Hop is truly about. All the sounds are going to be predictable – Drake spitting some corny lines following a pu__ylicking harmony. Oh please ma ni__a!!! And you look like you fu__ing stink.

@Janelle, drake does represent hip-hop. why doesn’t he because hes not rapping about selling drugs. how being in the hood. sex & drugs. he’s like a poet he’s like Nas too me in alot of ways.

@nicki minaj love, Just because he isn’t rapping about drugs don’t mean he’s good.Drake is the most overrated rapper I seen in the last 10 years.

I like what drake is doing with take care. I was way too young to know exactly who Stevie wonder is but some of the music I have heard from him is very legendary. Drake, keep doing what you are doing OVOXO

I like things like this, becasue they remind me of songs I may have forgotton about this being one of them! Not only that, it’s interesting to see what people’s choices are AND they introduce you to songs that you might not previously have been aware of.I hear you on yesterday’s choice btw. Also, why do people think it’s fun’ to line up on a dancefloor to do the dance? Why? Why?? Why???
