Rap-Up.com || Pharrell on Mary J. Blige’s New Album: ‘The Queen Is Back!’

If you weren’t excited for Mary J. Blige’s new album, Pharrell is about to change that. The super-producer, who usually keeps quiet when it comes to his collaborations, couldn’t contain his excitement over the R&B vet’s project.

“You got to hear her. All I’m saying is, When ya’ll hear MJB’s album, the queen is back! That’s all I gotta say,” said an enthusiastic Pharrell during an episode of Jermaine Dupri’s vlog series “Living the Life.”

My Life II: The Journey Continues, the sequel to Mary’s 1994 sophomore LP, is slated for a fall release. In addition to Pharrell, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been in the studio with J.D., Rico Love, Swizz Beatz, songwriter Andrea Martin, and Nicki Minaj, who appears on “Feel Inside.”

“She’s brought black music back on such an incredible level,” added P. “It’s amazing the kind of musicianship and the kind of poetry that’s on this album. This is one of the most amazing albums I’ve heard in a long time. I am so honored to be a part of it because it’s someone I like, admire, and is also a legend. When you guys hear this shit, reefer sales gon’ go up.”

We’re not sure exactly what he means, but we’re sold.

You don’t have to agree. But it is what it is. You notice they approach her as the Queen because she is a Queen.

Her status doesn’t take away from Beyonce’s nor does B take away from hers. STOP TRYING TO START A BEEF THAT DOESN’T EXIST!

@Joe , They want the album to be perfect so they are still working on it very hard. She has the best collabos and producers !

Maxwell, Alicia Keys, Fabulous there’s rumors that she’s going to work with Dre and Eminem, Rico Love, B.coxx, Ester Dean, JD… The list goes on.

This album is going to be MASSIVELY classic.

I’m only 16 years old, and I am a major Mary J. Fan!! Her music is very real, and hearing her music as a little child, she’s never gotten old with her music. She’s had 5 top ten albums, and 4 #1 albums with 50 million records sold worldwide, and nine Grammys to her name, definately making her one the R&B greats to still hold “The Queen” crown, for almost 20 years. Her swagg was, then, and still, to this day, can never be duplicated. I’m looking forward to her album, because the current R&B music scene is not what it used to be. We need real music, with real feeling back. And MJB is one of those peoples.
