Teairra Mari Exits Warner Bros., Signs to Rico Love’s Division1

Rico Love and Teairra Mari

Teairra Mari fans may finally get that sophomore album they’ve been waiting for. The R&B chanteuse has departed Warner Bros. Records and signed a new deal with Rico Love’s Division1 label. She made the official announcement on set of the video for “That’s All Me,” helmed by Rico.

“Teairra Mari is now part of the Division1 family. She is officially signed to Division1. We got the lights on all over the world,” said the music maestro, who’s written hits for Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Diddy.

Teairra released the EP Sincerely Yours last year on Warner Bros. and was previously signed to Roc-A-Fella Records.

    Now Rico can finally Pen a top 10 hit record for this chick. I just hope that Division one has the budgets since its an independant label.

    It’s not just about budgets. It’s also aligning her with the right team. Rico seems to be really pulling for her so we’ll see.

    I always wondered exactly what it was that brought her to Warner Bro’s. From day 1 it just didn’t seem like the right fit. Her and Rico have good chemistry so I’m really hoping he will give her a chance to shine. Teairra has been an underdog for so long now so I’ll remain optimistic about her future because she has always had great potential.

    It’s not going to work. Teairra Mari makes ghetto music with no substance. She’s a basic chick with a basic voice. Rico is good at producing and songwriting, but I haven’t heard shit from his other artists. This is her 3rd time getting dropped, shouldn’t this be a sign that having a singing career isn’t for her? Plus, Universal/Motown is a horrible label to be on!

    @yeahright, she LEFT warner bros. and rico love is a wonderful producer. Teairra’s vocals are WAYYYY better than half the pop hoes out today relying on auto-tune. she has a natural talent therefore shes gonna use it.. if you don’t like Teairra.. don’t look/comment on a post about her. plain and simple dumbass

    @yeahright,

    But i bet you didn’t know Lil Wayne is signed there, so is Drake and Nicki Minaj, and Kelly Rowland, and Melanie Fiona … doesn’t look too bad does it.

    I’m hella happy for her. Rico seems to really believe in her and if “That’s All Me” is anything to go by, her new material we’ll be super dope!

    Good for her, although there’s nothing about her that I haven’t seen 20 times before (Ashanti, Amerie, Keri Hilson, etc). It’s seemed to have taken her forever to get where she’s at now, wherever that may be. Her past recordings have been lackluster and the future isn’t promising. All the best to Teairra, but we’ll see how this goes…

    The ROC was actually a good fit for Teairra for the little time she was there which is why it was a huge surprise for not only her but most of us fans/supporters of Teairra when she was dropped from them! I agree that when she signed with Warner Bros. after that I never really thought it was a good fit either but Rico & Division 1 looks to be a really good fit which is 1 of the many reasons why I’m so glad for her on this move! They say the 3rd time is the charm & that good usually comes to those who are persistent enough which Teairra has been! So God willingly it actually does work out for her this time cause we all know from the very beginning of her career she has had the talent & work ethic to do so though unfortunately way to many times it has been overlooked cause of Teairra’s stunningly gorgeous looks unlike with a lot of her peers like Rihanna!

    @yeahright What do you mean she makes ghetto music have you ever listened to her music like ALL of it.I can’t help but think you are saying its ghetto because she’s primarily R&B.But whatever that’s your opinion her voice however has never been basic,she has a killer vibrato IMO.good luck though Teairra!!

    I’m very upset she’s not on a major label like she needs to be. I hope & pray this new deal brings her the superstar status that she deserves! Keep pushing T.T.

    nobody is checkin for her. this is not a good look for an upstart label. artists have to be special in order to make it in today’s industry. she’s not moving anybody from their positions.
