Syleena Johnson may be best known for her appearance on Kanye West’s 2004 hit “All Falls Down,” but the Chicago songstress’ talent reaches far beyond. On “Thorns,” the new single from her upcoming album Chapter 5: Underrated (Sept. 27), the wife and mother puts an end to a tumultuous relationship. “You used to be like roses, but now you just like thorns,” she sings on the dramatic piano-driven midtempo.

Been a fan of Syleena’s since Chapter 1!!!! She truly is underrated!!!! I already love “A Boss”, “My Shoes” and now “Like Thorns” so I know this album will be hot!!!! Can’t wait to listen to all the tracks on September 27th when her album drops!!!
