Red Hot Chili Peppers Scrap Kreayshawn-Directed Video![]() Kreayshawn’s video for the Red Hot Chili Peppers will not be televised. The rock band explains why they decided to scrap the “Gucci Gucci” rapper’s visuals.
The group originally enlisted the Bay Area artist to direct the video for their new single “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,” but ended up going with a different concept. “We had one sort of failed attempt at making a video for this song, which was indoors and just kind of dark and dank and not really fun or anything, so we thought, ‘Let’s go with the opposite of that,’” Anthony Kiedis told MTV News. Kreayshawn, who directed her own video for “Gucci Gucci” as well as Lil B’s “Like a Martian,” explained that her treatment was originally chosen by the band themselves. “It’s got that organic feel, but it still gives the band a great shine and they look fu**ing awesome,” the Berkeley Digital Film Institute dropout previously told MTV News. “They are looking off the chain, man. Anthony’s in there looking like a swimsuit model.” In the end, they called upon director Marc Klasfeld to reshoot a simple rooftop performance clip. Watch the final version below. @MzRain313, I didn’t say anything about race… so I see you’re thinking some faulty generalization here.

@theREAL., you sound stupid. Why would any rapper not direct a video for a rock band, if they were approached? That means more exposure for the artist. Besides shes a video director and a rapper. Its all money and art to her.

@SCP13, So do you know this hoe personally? Or are you just defending her wackness? You sound even more stupid because her ass got ditched from directing the video. You go find another hip hop artist that’s directing videos for rock bands and I’ll show pigs that shit gold. NEXT!

I was actually the lead female role in her version of the RHCP video. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to see it, but regardless of what anyone thinks of her, she did a good job (and was really nice, too), it was actually a really good concept, and I think it could have been a great video.

Yeah, I don’t see how her video could have been worse than this. Her gucci gucci video was decent.
