Rap-Up.com || Teairra Mari Arrested for Drunk Driving, Assaulting Police Officer

Teairra Mari was arrested for drunk driving after crashing her vehicle in Beverly Hills.

According to TMZ, the 23-year-old singer, born Teairra Marquisha Thomas, was driving her silver Infiniti on Santa Monica Boulevard in the early hours of Friday morning when she rear ended the car in front of her.

Officers report that Mari showed signs of intoxication and was arrested around 3:30 a.m. During the arrest, she reportedly “became combative, resulting in a minor cut to the hand of one of the arresting officers.” She was charged with DUI and assault of a police officer.

Mari is currently in custody and is being held on $50,000 bail, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Earlier this week, the Detroit native officially announced her signing to Rico Love’s Division1 label after splitting from Warner Bros. Records.

UPDATE: Teairra has been released from police custody as of 1:10 p.m. PST.

@Marteezy, I think some mistakes are played out, though. How many times do we see celebrities getting pulled over for a DUI?
Truth is, she could’ve killed herself and, even worse, harm or kill others. She’s old enough to know better.
And I also think she’s overrated. She can sing very well, that’s true, but as an entertainer, she’s trying too hard. Not to mention her lyrics are too ghetto for mainstream success, which I assume she’s seeking.
