Chris Brown pumped up the volume with this high-powered medley of his hits during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. With his brief retrospective of MTV hits, Breezy kicked off with his club smash “Yeah 3X,” cutting his performance with a dance breakdown to Wu-Tang Clan’s “Protect Ya Neck.” After rocking out to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” the singer, clad in a white suit, took flight while he belted out “Beautiful People,” entertaining an ebullient Kanye West who applauded while standing next to Jay-Z.

I don’t give a F*CK what anyone says, he had the most epic performance. He mixed all genres. He danced his a** off and I don’t care if he didn’t really sing. We all know he can sing. You wanna hear vocals from him, pick up the album. You wanna see the best dancing out there right now, whatch his performance.

@courtney, Actually it wasn’t only his fans giving him props, a whole lot of his peers, artist was tweeting him and did you see the standing ovation. It is very hard to do all those back flips in the air and come down dancing, his performance was epic and amazing. His BET performance was good, but this was amazing.

Ok did Chris sing at all. I like Chris but his dance is the same. His performance was good. The best performance Adele her vocals are the best right now no one can compete with her. Bey was good. Gag now that’s a different story may have to look at it again. Jay and Kanye did good. I gotta say I love Jay he just keep it real. They put the cameras on him when Chris was performing and he didn’t even change his facial expression. Jay keep it real 100dred. Gotta love Hov, he aint pretending for no one.

Sorry but y’all are hyping this up. He did the same dances we’ve always seen him do. He didn’t sing at all. Like not one word. He lip synced the entire thing. For all that, he can simply put out a dance dvd. He did not top his 2003 performance. Not even close.

I wouldn’t expect you to agree because you’re a stan. When I spoke of his 2007 performance being better, I was referring to his level of creativity and choreography. I would NEVER refer to him having great vocals because let’s be honest, he doesn’t have those. Chris spent more time hyping up his performance when he should have been spending that time at least practicing a line to actually sing. You’re ok with him lip syncing. That’s fine. But I expect more from a performer. There are plenty of artists who’ve danced hard, sang, and have been lifted through the air. You would make that sorry ass excuse for him. Does Pink ring a bell? His 2007 performance was lipsynched as well and guess what it is still being talked about so not sure what the big deal is now. I would like to make one point tho, since you mentioned Pink doing the same thing and singing live I would encourage you to go back at look at her performance because…1 she did not sing live but did infact lipsynch and 2. Pink unlike Chris had the assistance of a partner. Chris deserves mad props for his performance and it was the best of the night and that’s no shade to anyone else!

Chris did what we all can agree is the best performance hands down. I have to say I love how Kanye West stood the whole time for Chris and Jay Z well he did nod his head at the end of the performance. But still that didn’t make me like him at all. I love how the whole audience gave Chris that standing ovation. Chris and Beyonce are byfar the best performer of the Black American race. I will miss Beyonce now that she preggy. But again, congratulation to Chris Brown for the most memorable performance of the VMA’s.

chris, adele and beyonce stole the show for me fair enough chris didnt sing live but I’m sorry how can u sing live wen ur doing all those hard dance move its aint as easy as some of u think (yes I’m crazy CB fan but at the same time I’m not indenial if I thought he did shit I would of sed the performance was shit), but yet again he did a 10/10 performance, I love how adeles’s performance was laid back and soothing I just love Adele she was amazing and I know that performance touched everyone, as for beyonce the woman is pregnant but she was still able to go on that stage and leave everyone breathless yet again like adele and chris she slayed, and ppl allow hating on Chris the man is trying give him a break there celebrities who has done much worse everyone deserves a second chance in life :)

He isn’t a dancing God, but give the man the props. He had arguably the best performance, even though I will admit his dancing through the air got annoying after the 5th time he did it.
