Rap-Up.com || Lady Gaga Opens the 2011 VMAs [Video]

Jo Calderone took Lady Gaga’s shine to open the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The eccentric pop star, dressed as her male alter-ego, suited up as her trash-talking counterpart to perform her new single “You and I,” addressing the crowd that included a befuddled Justin Bieber and Adele.

“What’s with the hair? At first it was sexy but I’m just confused. She said I’m just like the last one. I’m not like the last one!” said Jo of Gaga. “How am I supposed to shine? I think I’d be OK with this if I felt like she was really being herself with me.”

He exacted revenge by singing the country-tinged tune, joining backup dancers to hit her cues and gracing the piano. To cap her role-playing performance, she popped a beer and accompanied a big-haired electric guitarist.

this is getting beyond ridiculous. do they really want us to believe that she is the biggest entertainer around? if so, what is that saying about american music? i mean, no black artist would ever be allowed to have 7 minutes airtime to do something like that. the reaction from other artists spoke volumes. from the “born this way” grammy performance to this one, gaga is proving that although talented (than others), she won’t be around for much longer.

if she started out like this, did the first verse of You & I, then stripped/changed to a girl outfit. it would have been so much better. after that 09 performance, she had to come harder than this

@joey, i know once i heard lady gaga was opening i thought this would be some epic performance but i was dissapointed, i thought she was comming out in a fish tank as yuyi then after singing a bit, she would transform and then just dance her a** off. that would of been epic.

I think that the introduction was a little bit too long, but the overall performance was good. For people who are hatin on originality or bringing the black/white crap….Whatever.
That is the exact reason why i love her.
