It was all about Snoop Dogg at the BMI Urban Awards. Rap-Up TV caught up with the man of the hour at the Pantages Theater before he was presented with the BMI Urban Icon award from Dr. Dre. Snoop spoke about being honored by his peers, his daughter Cori B.’s singing career, and his upcoming movie High School with Wiz Khalifa.
Twelve-year-old Cori’s debut single “Do My Thang” was recently released on iTunes and her father is hoping she will afford him an early retirement. “That’s when I’ma retire, when my baby girl get her foot all the way in the game,” said Snoop, with his wife Shante Broadus by his side.
Tha Doggfather also provided an update on the stoner comedy High School co-starring fellow pothead Wiz Khalifa. “The movie’s done,” he shared. “We’re just editing right now and the soundtrack will be out in a couple of months, so be on the lookout for that, maybe January or February.”
