Rap-Up.com || Video: Neon Hitch – ‘Gucci Gucci (Kreayshawn Cover)’

She lit up the ‘net with her rap-sung covers of Wiz Khalifa’s “On My Level” and Mac Miller’s “Donald Trump,” and now Neon Hitch takes on Kreayshawn’s viral sensation “Gucci Gucci.” The British singer strolls the streets of New York hawking counterfeit bags, browsing through a closet full of clothes, and kicking cold rhymes inside a refrigerator in the accompanying visuals.

“Bad Dog,” the lead single off her debut album Beg, Borrow, and Steal, is available now on iTunes.

I can dig it!!! She has a unique voice, and it suits the melody and music well. I can honestly say that I did not notice the lyrics much, as she sung the song a little bit sweeter than she needed to, but I enjoyed it :-) Good shit.

Criticizing people’s music based on their color is not helping… I would agree that a lot of white rappers are whack, BUT I also say a lot of rappers are whack in general, this chick isn’t even a rapper btw…she’s just covering a song she likes, and giving new life and meaning to the song (Which wasn’t all that good to begin with) I can respect that. Spreading love, not hate.

@Tre, the hip hop community, which is predominately black, has been more than receptive to rappers regardless of their skin color. However the same cannot be said of majority white music genres(rock, country, etc. that aren’t as receptive to black artists. The issue with racism lies with the majority. Someone cannot be racist if they are the social minority and have little control in the industry. Most record execs and business chairmen are white or Jewish and they control what’s musically acceptable. So with that said, it is not just irony that keeps many less than mediocre white artists selling millions. Eminem’s talent doesn’t match his record sales, while Nas, Common, etc don’t see those results, unbalanced eh?

I agree Eminem isn’t really all that great, at least not anymore, but he’s still making millions, while genuinely GOOD rappers are kinda in the background…It’s pretty fucked up but then again nowadays I see more of a blending of genres, new people breaking stereotypes, ect.. and I think that its great. Unfortunately its hard to beat the competition when you have people manipulating the masses, only few artists can really do their own thing and have something honest and good to say…its sad… but anyway, I see your point. Good debate… Haha

@hithere she isn’t a rapper. she is actually an electronic pop singer who decided to do a hip hop cover for fun. i’ve followed her for years, she’s a breath of fresh air in the scene that she is going into. her voice is very unique. read up on her before you call her “another white rapper”
