Rap-Up.com || New Music: Cassie f/ Fabolous

Next time you hear a song on the radio, it may just be about you. Cassie learns a lesson from the likes of Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child, SWV, and TLC on a new song off the Diddy and DJ Prostyle-hosted mixtape Bad Boy Presents The Preview, also featuring music from Machine Gun Kelly and Red Cafe.

Following a verse from Fabolous, the Bad Girl coos over the instrumental for Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones Pt. II,” recalling R&B jams that played out in real life. So she wrote her own song sharing her experiences and hopes it resonates with someone else.

“Who knew that they were trying to tell me about you and the crazy things you do?/ How could you be so cruel?” she asks on the mellow tune.

At the end of the mixtape, Diddy announced that “King of Hearts” will be the first single off Cassie’s sophomore album, due in 2012.

@Andre, I think she sounds alright on this track, but live she really can’t sing. That’s not hating, it’s just stating the truth. Cassie is extremely beautiful, in my eyes flawless. But vocally there are so many talented, beautiful, young women that deserve her spot.

As for the song, I love the concept. Very creative. Sounds dope. :-)

This is what u call an instant HIT. Cassie doesnt have the greatest vocals but her voice is so unique its very soothing and enjoyable. And that Fabolous verse definately brings this song up 10 notches. I can see this getting a lot of play on urban radio stations

She’s two flat notes from being Lumidee. Rihanna sounds better than her live. You can hear her STRETCHING for the notes. Twelve-year olds with no training in their mirror can mimic the same talk sing. Beautiful? Yes. Fuckable? Clearly. Artistic prowess? None. The concept is nice though.
