New Music: Jay Sean – ‘The Mistress’ [Mixtape]

The Mistress

Jay Sean shows America a lesser seen side on his R&B-infused mixtape The Mistress featuring appearances from Lupe Fiasco (“Say Yeah”), Tyga (“Sex 101”), and Birdman (“Love”). The Cash Money crooner shares stories of lust, infidelity, and love triangles on the 15 sexy, edgy tracks produced Orange Factory Music.

“For me, it’s my new passion project,” the British singer told Rap-Up TV. “It’s a little nod to throwback R&B, the stuff that I grew up to. It’s just fun. It’s not going in there and over-thinking anything. It’s just doing some stuff that I wanted to do, perhaps doing some stuff that America hasn’t heard. It’s showing the other side of me. It’s my other love, my hidden love.”

Jay Sean kicks off his North American co-headlining tour with Joe Jonas tonight in Boston.

If I hadn’t checked out this tape, I wouldn’t even be checking for him. I assumed he was all about the whole pop sound that everyone and their grandma is using, but after hearing the R&B side of Jay Sean I wonder why he doesn’t promote this style in the US. Wonderful mixtape.

Jay Sean shows he has one of the best voices in the industry today on this mixtape. When you cut out all the pop, he really shines. For me, “She Has No Time” is the best track…honest and different…

Its such as you learn my mind! You appear to understand a lot approximately this, such as you wrote the e book in it or something. I think that you just could do with a few percent to power the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.
