Lil Wayne continues his winning streak. After selling nearly a million copies of Tha Carter IV, the hip-hop heavyweight has been nominated a record-breaking 18 times at the BET Hip-Hop Awards ’11.
Weezy scores his nominations in the coveted categories of Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Video of the Year for “I’m on One” and “Look at Me Now,” which he shares with Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes.
Trailing behind Weezy are Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, who tied with nine nods each including MVP of the Year. Rick Ross follows with eight and Chris Brown nabs six. Nicki Minaj is the only female rapper nominated this year in categories including Lyricist of the Year and CD of the Year for her breakthrough debut Pink Friday.
Actor and comedian Mike Epps will host the sixth annual show, which will be taped at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta on October 1 and air October 11 at 8 p.m.

Wassup wit lyracist of the year how you gone put nicki and wayne put Kendrick big krit j.cole somebody other than them i got respect for both nicki and wayne but they dont say shit. Wayne could sell 10 million in a week that doesnt mean his album is classic it just means it was properly hyped, OD, Section 80,Kendrick Lamar EP better then anything wayne has put out. Kendrick gets you thinken, positively Kendrick isnt the future he is here, you dont need to give him the crown cuz he just gone put music better than anybody in my opinion which is what you should worry bout. One more thing Kendrick Drop temptaions soon please.
