Ameriie headed overseas for a performance in the country of Georgia last week. The newly married singer strutted across the stage in a pink leotard and coat made of hair as she treated attendees to her 2005 hit “1 Thing” backed by two dancers. She is finishing up her new album Cymatika, Vol. 1, which will showcase elements of trance, electronic, house, heavy drums, and new wave.
Love her, but I’ve seen her do better w/ this song. However, she still has “the voice” of HERS indicated by when she performed “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” A while ago.
@Dave, I think her best performance of this song was at the 2006 Soul Train Lady of Soul awards. I can’t stand when people claim she’s a one hit wonder. “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” was a success on the R&B charts and didn’t do too bad on Hot 100 either. “Talkin’ To Me” did pretty well on the R&B charts as well and that counts. Anyway if A was a “nonmf’n” factor she wouldn’t be on her 5th album and 10 years strong in the game. She had a dedicated fan base and I love her style and voice *steps off soapbox*
WOW AMERIIE STILL ALIVE LOL I AINT HEARD NEW MUSIC FROM THIS GIRL IN 3 YEARS SMH NON MF’N FACTOR TO ME THATS WHY SHE STILL SINGING OLD SONGS CUS SHE GOT NO NEW ONES
She’s really a good performer, not her best, but not her worst by far.
Ameriie will never be megastar.
So I wish people would with the “she needs a better team” or “she’s not a star so she should stop making music” comments because it’s obvious, that with 10 years in with 5 albums she’s HERE for the damn music.
I really like Ameriie,but she will be known as a 1 hit wonder.”1 Thing” is her only hit record which is a shame cause she really is very talented,but could not put out the hits like Beyonce and Rihanna.It’s good seeing she is still performing.
Yea….she is cool and i always wondered why she never made it. She is beauiful, seems to have a nice personality, can write, sing, dance, and act…oh yea, she can’t make a hit
@Twitter.Com/Ciaramedlies, HA! This was produced by Amerie’s producer Rich Harrison who had worked with her since her debut. He worked with Amerie WAY before doing any production for Beyonce.
I will never understand why people emphasize “hits” when it comes to Ameriie. Especially since she has had success in the past. It’s like people will die if they can’t give her the credit she deserves.
Plus, why should music fans care about her making hits, you aren’t in the music industry. Why should you care?

@PhoenixReborn,
It appears that the unfortunate people who focus on hits haven’t had the experience of hearing good music. Some of the best and classic songs of all time didn’t do so well when it came out, but it steadily had success.
On the other hand, some songs that were instant hits, people are ashamed to say they listened to it now…even the artists are ashamed (i.e. Sisqo and his “thong song!” You don’t even hear that no more!
It’s the younger generation and their insatiable need of instant gratification. They want it now and when they’re done (5 minutes later) they don’t even remember listening to it.
I can’t wait for Ameriies new album because shes independent which means more authentic sound w more single releases. This performance was amazing that proved why she is one of the best entertainers in the game! I can’t wait to Cymatika becomes her breakthrough album! I wanna see her everywhere I.e. VMA’s, NRJ awards, Britts, etc. I need this album to sky-rocket her back to the top! No other singer deserves it more! I hope she uses her Korean background to her advantage! She become the first singer to successful bring light to Loop music in US!
@NovaLidole, I didn’t realize she was independent now but I’m not surprised. Def Jam did nothing for her. “Swag Back” could’ve been big on the pop charts. I agree that nobody deserves success more than her. I’m so elated that she’s staying true to herself and to music and not giving af what anyone else thinks! I’m glad to finally hear real music coming back i.e. Drake, The Weeknd, Bei Maejor, Jhene Aiko, Frank Ocean, Brandy, Monica, Mary J. Blige, Melanie Fiona, Tiffany Evans, etc.
