Rap-Up.com || Video: Tony Bennett & Amy Winehouse

On what would have been her 28th birthday, Tony Bennett releases the video for his duet with the late Amy Winehouse. The soothing jazz tune, which will appear on Bennett’s star-studded album Duets II (Sept. 20), is said to be the singer’s last completed recording before she passed away in July and serves as a lasting tribute to her tremendous talent.

The clip, comprised of footage from their recording sessions in March at Abbey Road Studios in London, was filmed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Dion Beebe (Chicago).

“We had a beautiful time recording together in the studio and I knew that Amy was very happy with how she performed that day,” said Bennett. “I thought she was absolutely brilliant and this recording truly captures the essence of her unique artistry. She was a rare talent.”

Proceeds from the song and video, both available on iTunes, will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Happy birthday Amy.

Its a shame she isn’t here to celebrate it. She had overcome her biggest demons but I guess it wasn’t enough this time. Her talent needs to live on, but she will always be a “what if?” Back to Black is brilliant but it also seems easy and it pre dates her darkest days. To me, its a glimpse of what I hoped would come. No artists captured my attention the way she did when I first heard her. That voice and what she had to say with it and how she was gonna say it.
