« Rihanna Fires Up Rock in Rio FestivalJay-Z, Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, & Black Eyed Peas Hit Vegas for iHeartRadio Festival »Alicia Keys Debuts New Song in Las Vegas [Video]![]() Alicia Keys offered a teaser of her new album during her set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday night. The Grammy-winning songbird, dressed head to toe in black, debuted the uplifting piano-driven number “A Place of My Own” before the sold-out crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. “I’ve been in the studio working on some new music and I thought tonight would be the perfect night to play something new for you,” said Alicia as she sat at the piano belting out the soulful tune. “‘Cause I’m lookin’ for a place to call my own/ I’m lookin’ for a house to make a home/ I’m lookin’ for a seat upon a throne/ I’m lookin’ for a place to call my own,” she sang on the hook.

Alicia Keys is SO talented, but I wish her voice wasn’t always so thin and pitchy… :(

Big Alicia fan and I believe I’ll love this song. Her voice was very hoarse/sick last night, even when she just talked. I want to hear a better live performance of it and a studio version. Otherwise. I love it and it sounds like a hit

@KERI HILSON IS BADDDDDDDD AND SHES A THREAT TO UR FAV, And Keri could? Lol Alcia keys voice has been recognized by the grammys. How could Keri be a threat, when she is still performing at Rip the Runway, Soul Train, and she hasn’t even performed at the BET awards this year, now thats a flop.

@Why Ask,
Go away. If you can’t appreciate great music you shouldn’t even be here. She’s not boring to people with a brain and a little sense. Go turn the speakers up real loud on an idiotic song and go crazy.

I saw the entire performance and she sounded exceptionally great! Anyone who thinks she can’t sing must have a hearing problem. There’s no one like Alicia and there never will be. I’m glad she sang one of her new songs. She is a very brave lady. It usually takes a while to feel a song, but I think this one is really nice already. As far as pitchy, it IS live. You don’t always have perfection in a live performance. It was beautiful.

@DeeJay, This song reminds me of Aretha 1967 album I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You, that was a BAAD album, if U don’t like that album, you don’t know R&B/Soul musiq.

@Sol-Power,
Your opinion. She evidently knows what she’s doing and evidently a lot of people like the range she sings in or she wouldn’t be where she is now. Love her and her beautiful voice.

I think also u have to remember she sings all the way through her performances so i’m sure she has been singing for a minute before singing this song so instead of pointing out a flaw take it for what it is, raw talent, without Alicia i bet we’d be praying for an artist like her so i’m enjoying this blessing.

The song is good.
Not like some of the other’s.
She sounded like she had a cold.
Raspy.
I would like to hear this song
with her softer sound.
Not like yelling.
Sounds like she’s got some anger inside.
Having a baby is a stressful time.
So many worries.
I’m sure she has a cold though too,
which probably affects her feelings.
She’ll return, WE ALL DO.

I usually don’t dig Alicia’s music like that, but this sounds amazing. Alicia always had something very pure about herself… She never lost it. Not even for a second. I’m looking forward to the rest of her new material.

I was thining the same thing, every time I see an Alicia Keys story on here, this worthless piece of crap is commenting. It’s REALLY funny that she takes the time to find the stories and comment negatively on them. Don’t even comment back because you can’t deny you obviously don’t have much of a life. Keep shining Alicia, forget these “haters”..

@joe,
Well Joe I sure hope you meant she, the negative commentor, hasn’t got much of a life. I pull up something about Alicia because I do love her music. I don’t bother to pull up people and their music I could care less about just to insult them. Anyway, I don’t reply to many haters, just this one because she’s always there.
