Las Vegas was the place to be on Friday night as Clear Channel presented its inaugural iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The first day’s jam-packed lineup included the Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and more.

Fergie, will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap kicked off the evening with an electrifying set, getting a hand from “America’s Best Dance Crew” champs The Jabbawockeez. Bruno Mars and his dapper band reprised their heartfelt tribute to Amy Winehouse, leading the crowd in chants of “We Love You, Amy” as they performed “Valerie.”

Alicia Keys dazzled at the piano with “No One,” “Fallin’,” and “If I Ain’t Got You,” before passing the mic to Jay-Z. Mr. Carter brought New York to Vegas, staging a medley of his hits with help from Memphis Bleek. He invited Alicia back to the stage to duet on “Empire State of Mind.” “Beautiful night, Las Vegas. I want to thank you for all the love,” said Hov.

The backstage star sightings were equally exciting, as Dr. Dre posed with Fergie and will.i.am caught up with Alicia Keys. Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger, and Usher will take the stage tonight.
