Rap-Up.com || B.o.B Performs ‘Airplanes’ with Taylor Swift in Dallas [Video]

Taylor Swift is earning her street cred one show at a time. The country sweetheart has already shared the mic with Nicki Minaj, Usher, and T.I., and last night, T. Swift brought out B.o.B during her “Speak Now” concert at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Bobby Ray surprised thousands of concertgoers when he jumped on stage to perform his hit single “Airplanes,” with Taylor singing Hayley Williams’ part.

“Had a night to remember in Dallas performing one of my biggest songs with the ever-so enchanting Taylor Swift,” tweeted B.o.B.

Taylor added, “Tonight was like a dream. That crowd.. The biggest indoor stadium in the world. And singing ‘Airplanes’ with B.O.B. !!!!!”

I don’t see how it’s a surprise at all she’s selling out Cowboys stadium. She’s the poster girl for Country Music, and although Nashville might be THE home of Country Music (the same way NY is Hip Hop), Texas still is all about Country Music too with it’s large population of hillbilly’s and rednecks. Look at the crowds The Dixie Chicks used to pull there, almost always over 60,000.

On another note, the heart of hip hop gets poked every time this country girl tries to invade hip hop’s space. I mean, nothing against her, just her culture.

@ESCO, Taylor’s popularity is not about Texas, the South, or even Country Music. Swift also packed Detroit’s Ford Field, KC’s Arrowhead, and the New England Patriots Gillette Stadium (she sold out Gillette 2 straight nights, 57000+ each night). Also sold out the Lakers’ Staples Center FOUR nights row. Lots of traditional country fans can’t even stand her for being a crossover artist, probably more so after all this Rap and Hip Hop from her. Girl just likes to have fun, does what she wants, haters be damned.

@David, I know she has fans outside of Texas, that’s not what I was saying. Of course she has fans everywhere in the United States, she’s popular all over. But I said, it’s no surprise that she’s selling out one of the biggest venues in the United States, given Texas’ demographics.

And good luck to her with everything she does. To me she might not be able to sing, but I can at least acknowledge that she’s in her own lane. I hate these little hip hop remixes though, although that speaks more about the new hip hop culture than Taylor Swift. It makes me laugh when I consider whether the likes of DMX, Nas, Outkast etc. would ever go on stage with someone like Faith Hill…..never. Ever.

@nice_gurl, umm FYI she already had Tim McGraw(country), Ronnie Dunn(country), Kenny Chesney(country), Andy Grammer(soul/pop) and Hailey Williams(rock) as guest artists. You only hear about the urban artists because those are “your” genres/demographic. Taylor is a lover of all music and genres. She’s said that from the very beginning.
