After signing with Roc Nation last fall, Jay Electronica has remained quiet. Now the New Orleans rapper marches back to the front lines with the video game-inspired “Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 3),” a heavy-hitting collaboration with Mobb Deep.
“Ni**as call my album Detox ’cause they know I’m finna bring the next Chronic,” he boasts over the industrial beat, while Mobb Deep commands listeners to put their diamonds in the sky.
Jay E. dedicated the track to Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs and his own hometown. “I dedicate today’s release to Steve Jobs’ family, and the people of New Orleans,” he tweeted.
@Carlton, i agree is not his best work but you kn exhibit c is the only reason im givin his ass a chance on this Ny-Quil ass jawn…im saying dude realy needs to up his beat selection game for real. geez!
@TDOT,
2 be completely honest, the mediocre or shall I say less than stellar production seems 2 be a trend in the hip hop division of RocNation. They have awsome lyricist over average production. They truly need to outsource 4-real.

Not a bad track. Too bad the name is an eleven on a scale of 1-10 of corny-ness.

BAD production. Sounds terrible. Hope ACT2 will be decent.
A lot of Jay E’s tracks are hit and miss tbh.
